The hairlines

the question of the link in the sculptures

Approach through visual language, the question of the link.

Question its impact on the plastic object; its structural role, its importance as an element of cohesion; its ability to generate more or less complex systems.

The hairlines are works that explore the question of the link through a plastic object, its role in the solidity of the structure.

The proposals are composed from 4 elements of identical shapes but of different dimensions

Depending on the number of links (rings) which unite the 4 elements, a more or less stable composition is obtained. The more links there are, the more the work is stable but also fixed. Conversely when there is only one link, the balances are precarious but the possibilities are very numerous.

In the series “Les Déliés”, the plastic works on offer are articulated around a single formal element, repeated 4 times in different dimensions.

By intervening on the number and the place of the links which connect them between them, I try to traverse the variety of the possible systems in three-dimensional space.

So whatever the place where the links are placed, the assembled elements keep a certain mobility and the spectator / actor can at will generate a whole series of plastic objects by deploying the elements in space.

Many variations are possible thanks to the self-balancing of the system.
